I hope everyone is doing well as the semester is winding down and as they prepare for final exams. Our last meeting of the semester will be Monday 4/24/17 in Thomas Hall room 3503 at 5:30 pm. This will just be a fun meeting to go to to talk to other members. In addition to this, we will be holding elections for next year. The positions that are up for grabs are co-president, treasurer, secretary, social chair, and COS representatives. So if you want to run make sure to come.

I hope everyone's first round of tests has been good so far! The next Biology Club meeting is tomorrow (2/6/17) at 6:00 pm (not the usual 5:30pm) in Thomas Hall room 3503. Our speaker Dr. Marcela Rojas-Pierce will be coming to talk about plant cell biology. So if you are interested in this it will be a good meeting to come check out.
Also, we will be collecting dues so if you have not payed them yet you can do that tomorrow. As a reminder our first club trip is this Saturday (2/11/17).

Hello Biology Club,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. I just want to remind everyone that our next meeting is tomorrow (09/12/16) in Thomas Hall room 3503 at 5:30pm.
This meeting our guests, researchers from Dr. Barrangou's lab, will be talking about CRISPR technology and how it can be used.
Additionally, we will be collecting dues tomorrow so if you have not paid yet this will be an excellent time to. Dues are $8 for a semester or $12 for a year. As always snacks and drinks will be provided.

November 9 Meeting
Hey Biology Club!
We have a meeting, TOMORROW, Monday, November 9 in Thomas Hall Room 3503.
Dr. Sarah Council, a microbiologist, will be coming to speak to us about her research on the skin microbiome.
Dr. Council won't be able to make it to the meeting until 6:00pm so we will be showing a Ted Talk at 5:30pm. You are welcome to come at either 5:30 or 6:00, depending on what works best with your schedule!
You will get an attendance point for the meeting either way.

Shack-A-Thon Sign Up!
Hey Biology Club!
We have an awesome opportunity coming up to earn a service point and get involved with the College of Sciences!
Shack-A-Thon is next week and the College of Sciences is looking for volunteers to help build and man the shack!
Linked below is the Google sheet where you can sign up for 30 minute shifts. *Members who sign up for at least two 30 minute shifts (a total of 1 hour) will earn a service point.
Just send us an email when you have completed you hours!
Additionally, if you are interested in helping to build the shack, building will take place Sunday, September 20th at 12pm near the Wolf Ears (in front of D.H. Hill). No experience is required, just be sure to wear closed toe shoes!
Shack-A-Thon is sure to be a very exciting experience!
