If you were not able to attend the first meeting, we spoke about attending BugFest this upcoming Saturday, September 21 at the Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. There will be exhibits, crafts, games, and activities. Entomologists and other scientists will be there to display their work on bugs. We will be providing rides. If you are interested in going, please email me as soon as possible. We will spend about 2 hours there in the morning, so it would not take up much of your day. It will be a fun event to come check out. Please let me know as soon as possible. I plan to send a separate email out by tonight to those who are going for sure will details of when and where to meet.

Thank You and have a great rest of the week!

Club Meeting September 9, 2013

Hey Everyone,

I hope your semester is off to a great start. Biology Club is having its first meeting of the semester this Monday, September 9. Our speaker for this meeting is Dr. Jennifer Landin. She is a professor at NC State who teaches 'Biology in the Modern World' and the popular 'Biological Illustration' class on campus. She will be talking to us about her courses and science education.

At the beginning of our meeting, the officers will talk a little bit about the club and what we are planning to do this semester. Usually our meetings begin at 5:30 pm and last for an hour, but for this first meeting, we will start the meeting at 5:15 pm. The meeting will be held in 102 David Clark Labs.

I hope to see everyone there!

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Hey everyone,

Mrs. Kelley has been asked if our club could sponsor a social to help students interact and get to know other students who have transitioned into NCSU as transfer students. These students do not get an opportunity to be on campus and get to know as many people as students who live on campus or spend all four years at one institution do. We are getting funding for the event, and we will invite members.

Tentatively, we are trying to schedule the event two weeks from now, the weekend of Sunday, September 15 would be the date from 4 to 6 pm. It is soon, so I am just sending an email now to find out if you will be available then. We would most likely have it early afternoon, maybe 11 am to 2pm? Please let me know if you can come help, and I will send out another email soon with more details prior to our first meetingMonday.

Thank You!
